Introduction
Samsung TVs run Tizen and LG TVs run webOS. On both you install a player app straight from the TV's app store — so you don't need an extra box.
Most Smart TV apps work with a MAC address: the app shows a unique code, and on the app's website you link your TiviCode details to it. It sounds technical, but it takes just a few minutes.
What you need
- A Samsung Smart TV (Tizen, around 2017 or newer) or LG Smart TV (webOS)
- Your TiviCode access details (M3U link or Xtream Codes)
- A phone or computer to link the playlist
- A stable internet connection, ideally via Ethernet cable
Step by step
- 01
Step 1
Open the app store
Samsung: press Home and choose Apps. LG: press Home and open the LG Content Store.
- 02
Step 2
Find and install a player
Search for IBO Player Pro, for example, and choose Install. See the list of compatible apps for alternatives.
- 03
Step 3
Write down the MAC address
Open the app. You'll see a MAC address and often a device key. Take a photo of them.
- 04
Step 4
Link your playlist
On your phone or computer, go to the website shown in the app, enter the MAC address and add your TiviCode M3U link or Xtream Codes details.
- 05
Step 5
Restart the app
Close the app completely and open it again. Your channels, films and series will load.
- 06
Step 6
Load the programme guide
Give the app a few minutes to load the EPG. Then you'll see what's on now and next.
Troubleshooting
Problem: The app isn't in the store
Solution: Check that your TV's region is set to the Netherlands or Belgium. If that doesn't work, a Fire TV Stick is a quick fix.
Problem: ‘Playlist not found’ after linking
Solution: Check the MAC address character by character and restart the app. Wait a minute after uploading before reopening.
Problem: The picture stutters
Solution: Use an Ethernet cable, restart your router and lower the quality in the app if needed. Also read fixing buffering.
