How to set up IPTV on your Smart TV

Set up IPTV on a Samsung, LG or Android Smart TV. Which app to choose, how to link it and what to do if it doesn't work.

Published Updated 2 min read

A Smart TV is the most comfortable way to watch IPTV: no extra boxes, one remote. The steps you follow depend on your TV's operating system.

Step 1: which system does your TV run?

  • Samsung → Tizen
  • LG → webOS
  • Philips, Sony, TCL, Hisense → usually Android TV or Google TV

Not sure? Check the settings menu under ‘About this TV’, or look up your model number.

Step 2: choose a compatible app

On Samsung and LG, apps such as IBO Player Pro and Smart IPTV run directly on the TV. Android TV gives you the most choice, with players like TiviMate and OTT Navigator. Read more in IPTV apps for Smart TV.

  1. Install the app from your TV's app store.
  2. Open the app and note the MAC address (Samsung/LG) or choose Xtream Codes (Android TV).
  3. Add your TiviCode details on the app's website or directly in the app.
  4. Restart the app and wait for the programme guide to load.

Not working?

If the app isn't in the store, your TV may be too old or set to the wrong region. A Fire TV Stick is a quick fix in that case. You'll find detailed steps in the Smart TV guide, and our team is happy to help via contact.
